Demonstrate learning through play in practice with the LEGO Foundation

Playful experiences support children in practising and developing a breadth of skills that are essential for them to thrive and successfully navigate a complex and ever-changing world.

This short course from the LEGO Foundation will introduce you to a tool designed to provide a shared understanding and methodology of playful experiences. This knowledge will help you observe, reflect upon, and improve children’s playful experiences.

Learn how to improve children’s playful learning

On this course, which can be completed in a few hours, you’ll explore a tool that allows you to understand what learning through play looks like from a child’s perspective.

The tool will help you observe play and reflect upon what you have seen in order to improve a child’s playful learning experience.

Practice being an effective observer of learning through play

A good facilitator inspires children’s play and creates space and time for many kinds of playful experiences.

What’s more, by having a shared understanding about what these experiences look like, you can provide experiences and environments that foster a breadth of skills and empower children’s self-efficacy through play.

You’ll be introduced to the characteristics of play that will lead to deeper learning and try documenting playful experiences using the learning through play experience tool.
