Preventing further violence

A key fact to remember is that patients who have experienced domestic violence are at high risk of further violence, at the hands of the same perpetrator, in their homes.

Therefore, it’s crucial that health professionals are familiar with:

  1. Danger assessment
  2. Safety planning
  3. Measures to avert new threats to life and health.
