We hope you can now appreciate the importance of mass spectrometry in studying the metabolome, and how recent analytical developments to improve the mass accuracy and mass resolution of instruments is enabling us to improve the number of metabolites that we can detect and potentially identify. Next week, we will introduce you to data analysis and metabolite identification.
Skip to 0 minutes and 43 secondsRick and Ralf will join us again to provide an overview of the data processing pipelines used in DIMS and LC-MS, and introduce you to the challenges involved in identifying metabolites, providing an overview of the tools and databases available to aid the identification of metabolites. We will also be joined by our statistics expert, Dr. Jasper Engle. Jasper will introduce you to the univariate and multivariate approaches applied to analyse the big data sets produced in metabolomics studies.
