This course introduces students to three foundational components of end of life care research: theoretical frameworks, methodological approaches, and ethical considerations. The course will identify classic and contemporary concepts, issues, and debates within end of life research; sensitise students to the close relationship between theory, methods, and ethics in end of life research; and consider intended as well as unintended consequences of conducting end of life research within local, national, and international contexts.

Who is the course for?

This is the second course for learners undertaking the ‘Theory, Methods, and Ethics in End of Life Research’ programme, as part of the University of Glasgow End of Life Studies Degree.

Who will you learn with?

I am the Lead for the End of Life Studies MSc/PGDip/PGCert Program at the University of Glasgow. I am a medical anthropologist who is interested in interdisciplinary research on the end of life.
