Isabel Drury speaks about workplace learning at the Met Office

Isabel Drury, Partnership Manager at FutureLearn, will be speaking at the Met Office on Monday 14 May as part of Learning at Work Week.

To celebrate Learning at Work week, which runs 14-18 May, Isabel will be speaking to staff at the Met Office about the growing trend of online learning in the workplace. This year’s theme is ‘Networked for Learning’ and during the month, companies throughout the UK will be running a range of events, workshops and activities for their staff. The theme invites exploration of the social, technological and partnership aspects of learning – how we can create value from networks and drive new thinking and ways of developing. Isabel will give advice on the most in demand skills from employers, how to make time for learning, and how to find a course that suits a learner’s individual needs.

The Met Office is the UK’s national weather service, and recently partnered with the University of Exeter and the Royal Meteorological Society to offer the popular FutureLearn course, Learn About Weather. This course is for anyone looking for an introduction to the weather, as well as those with a particular interest in how weather affects photographers, gardeners and walkers. The course is available to join and starts again on 6 August.

Isabel Drury is a Partnership Manager at FutureLearn, responsible for working with universities, charities and other educational institutions to deliver quality courses to learners around the world. Prior to joining FutureLearn, Isabel worked in academic publishing developing digital content, and also in consultancy advising on technology transformation.
