For Remembrance Day, explore war memorials around the world
This week, FutureLearners have been exploring war memorials around the world and sharing pictures of those that are local to them, as part of the free online course “Changing Faces of Heroism.” Here, to mark Remembrance Day (or Veterans Day, depending on where you are), we take a look at some of them.
The course has been developed by the University of Leeds in partnership with the BBC, and features an array of archive footage. In the film below, which is taken from the course, you can see memorials around Europe and Africa, including the installation of nearly a million poppies at the Tower of London this year:
