Importing Data from a Formatted Excel Report

Watch our lecturer Dany Hoter import data from a formatted Excel report.

In the previous activities, you looked at some common data sources you could use to import into your Excel data model.

Now you’ve been put in a much more limited scenario. Importing data directly from an Excel report is not the most efficient way to get data but if it’s your only option, it’s good to know that it’s possible.

This process will be different for each report you use depending on how it’s set up. Approach it as an iterative process, making changes and checking if you have the desired outcome. If so, move on to the next change and if not, just delete that step in the applied steps tab and try again.

Watch the video as many times as you need to understand the steps Dany followed. When you are ready, test your knowledge in the quiz and labs in the next steps.
