Skit: Danny’s Meeting with the CEO

Watch this skit of Danny's meeting with the CEO.
1.7
Hi, Marla. » Hi, how are you? » I’m good, we had our first team meeting actually, » Fantastic, how was Vince? » He’s been- » He, IT projects are his thing. » Yeah, has been great. He said a lot of great ideas. » Wonderful, so when my app going to be ready? » So after discussing it further I think that we realized that in app for the technicians that allows them to reference documentation may not be the best solution. I’m just worried that is not a problem that actually exist in the field. » Do you know this for sure? » Well, so this is based on some pretty definitive input from Vince.
41.7
But, to be honest, we don’t know for sure. And I think that’s what we need to spend the next five days doing is really getting out in the field and understanding what problems exist for the technicians and how they do their job day to day. » So I’m confused. You want five more days to go out in the field. But I’ve already given you Vince for three days, and that wasn’t easy to do. » Yes, I understand, and Vince has been a great addition to the team. He, as a VP, has a lot of other responsibilities, and so he has been operating at a much higher level, similar as you. » So what will I get next week then?
79.4
So our goal for next week will be a rank list of actual problems that exist out in the field for technicians. And if we find something that is worthwhile informer team will also have some user stories that we can code against. The goal you know I also have a detail plan that breaks down the day to day of what we are going to do, and I can share that with you if you will like to see it.
100.6
No, I don’t need to see the plan. I don’t need that level of detail. What I need is the app. » Understandable. Just so I understand what the goal is here. What do you consider a success when it comes to this app? » Let me be really honest, and this isn’t for general consumption. But we have competition moving in and we’re projecting 18 to 24 months that they could start expanding. They have an app. We don’t have a map. You need to figure this out. » Understood, so I guess the next time you’ll meet, I’ll come back with some specific and some options.
140.3
I think we meet in next Friday, some maybe we can discuss that Friday is perfect, I’ll see you then. » All right, great. Sounds good.

In the previous skit, you watched how things might work in a team that’s transitioning to using more agile methods. In this skit, watch as Dani meets with the CEO and explains to her their plan for trying to make sure they are creating an app that addresses an actual problem in the field.
