Cost & Timing, Part 1

Daniel Reuss, Lokalise's Director of Agile Practice, demonstrates how an incremental approach to localization can result in better product lead times.

Lead times, defined as the point at which you gather requirements to the point of release, are always going to bring more value the shorter the lead times are.

Using an agile methodology, because lead times are based on incremental releases, the likelihood of reaching value creation more quickly is almost definite. Risk is also reduced with quicker releases because once your product is released, you know more about it and can gather feedback.

Quicker releases might be achieved by minimizing scope, whether that’s the number of locales for which you’re developing or the number and complexity of features in your product.
