Pre-hospital care requires teamwork across services and professions and is only one part of a patient’s chain of survival. We hope that the course has helped provide a platform for multi-disciplinary learning and discussion.

At the beginning of the week we looked at the many challenges that clinicians face when delivering airway management in the pre-hospital setting – thereby making the process high risk. Throughout the course we have reviewed the multi-faceted strategies that are employed by pre-hospital clinicians and organisations to mitigate the risks and deliver safe pre-hospital anaesthesia and airway management.
