In this activity we have looked at what cryptography is and the three main reasons it is used in modern life.
To give you an idea of what cryptography looks like, we will introduce some simple historic ciphers in the next activity. Although they are not used anymore where security is important, they are an interesting insight into the development of cryptography and they are great fun to try!
