Congratulations on completing the course

Watch Sebastian Binnewies share his final conclusions to the course, Big Data Analytics: Opportunities, Challenges and the Future.
We hope you’ve enjoyed the course. Over the last two weeks, you’ve discovered what’s behind the term big data, and what’s involved in analysing it. Together, we’ve looked at big questions about big data. What are the opportunities and challenges of big data analytics? And how do you personally feel about it? To help you shape your opinion, we introduced you to the sources of big data. In particular, the large chunk of social media data available on the web, and the different types of social media data. We also discussed individual steps of the data analytics cycle, and the importance of visualisation when faced with huge volumes of data.
Week 2 was then all about discovering the breadth of big data analytics, by highlighting a few sample case studies from various disciplines. We hope that this course has given you a better understanding of big data analytics, how it can affect your life, and what it might mean for our future.

Let’s take a moment to celebrate all that we have achieved together and reflect upon the process of the past two weeks.

Thanks for joining us for this short course. We hope that you’ve enjoyed the course and have broadened your understanding of the applications of big data analytics.

Looking back on our learning journey, we have covered a lot of ground in a very short period of time.

Now perhaps you’d like to take the opportunity to let us know how we did. Were there areas that you found to be overly technical? Did you find yourself wishing for more information? Less information? What parts of the course did you really love? Was there anything that we could better?
