Next steps

Paul Ashley and Susan Parekh suggest how you can take your learning further.
Now you have completed this course, we hope you are inspired to keep learning. There are lots of different ways of doing this.

Join a special interest society

Depending on where you live and practice in the world, there are a range of different associations or societies you can join or follow. In the list below, we’ve highlighted some of the main ones we are aware of or who we have worked with before. This is not complete by any means, so ask around to see if there are any societies local to where you are.

American Association of Paediatric Dentistry
Arabian Academy of Paediatric Dentistry
British Society of Paediatric Dentistry
European Association of Paediatric Dentistry
International Association of Paediatric Dentistry

Keep up to date

There are some great Paediatric Dentistry Journals out there, and whilst the articles can sometimes seem a bit technical, they are a great way of keeping up to date with current thinking. Our favourites are probably either the International Journal of Paediatric Dentistry or the European Archives of Paediatric Dentistry. These journals will require a subscription for full access.

Further study opportunities

There are likely to be short course opportunities in your area, so why not try those. But if you want to really develop your skills, consider taking an accredited qualification leading to a degree or diploma. If you are interested in a postgraduate qualification, then why not look at our Blended Learning MSc? At the time of writing, this is the only MSc in Paediatric Dentistry worldwide that is delivered mostly online. The emphasis in the MSc is very much on Paediatric Dentistry. But there is an orthodontic component (much of which was used for this course).
