Welcome to the course

Join Liz and explore how you can become a better presenter.

By the end of this course we want you to feel confident and enthused about your own unique presenting style.

If you have to present as part of your job and find it tricky, daunting or just plain terrifying, this is the course for you. The world of presenting has changed dramatically recently with much now being done online. This course has been designed to help you become the best presenter you can be both face-to-face and digitally by identifying your strengths and learning how to play to them.

Presenter Network presenters will share their expertise and experience presenting with you throughout the course and we hope you share yours with us and the others on the course too.

What topics will be covered?

We will be looking at:

  • How to identify your presenting strengths and weaknesses.
  • How to add personality and life into your presenting style.
  • How to engage with your audience whoever that may be from formal meetings to full-blown theatre shows.
  • How to sharpen your presenting skills, specifically when it comes to improvisation, storytelling and weaving a narrative through your presentations.
  • Activities that will allow you to put the theory you have learned into practice.
  • What to do when things go wrong.

In week one we will mainly focus on your perceptions of your own presenting style and where you would like to fill gaps in your skills and experience.

In week two we will be further developing skills. These could be skills you already have and want to give a little polish or they could be brand new. We will focus on how to add personality, presenting in different environments, storytelling and improvisation.

In week three we will be putting everything together and into practice. We will look at the technical aspects of presenting, how to effectively engage with an audience and even how to add humor.

We have lots to cover so let’s get cracking!
