Fit models

Fit models are used as live models to test how garments fit and for designers to drape, cut, and pin fabric and garments. Most companies rely on fit models, also referred to as fashion house models, to give them feedback on how a garment fits and feels, as well as where it needs adjustments.

They may also model the finished garments for retail buyers in the company showroom and, in the case of couture, for individual customers.

Show and photographic models

Show models, or runway models, present merchandise in fashion shows, whereas photographic models, also known as print models, are those hired for photographs to be used in promotional and selling materials, such as catalogues, brochures, or magazine advertisements.

The modeling agency takes bookings from clients who need models to work at fashion exhibitions, trade markets, product launches, and so on.

In addition to locating and booking models, the modeling and talent agency director also finds and hires talent for film and media companies. For example, a movie producer from Los Angeles may choose Seattle as the location for filming. The casting director for the film may contact a modeling and talent agency to locate actors, extras, costumers, or hair and makeup professionals in the Seattle area.
