Making healthy snacks appealing

Preparing healthy snacks for children doesn’t need to be difficult or time-consuming, but preparing things ahead of time is a good idea. You can cut up enough fruits for a couple of days and store them in a plastic container in the fridge. Pineapple and watermelon store really well in the fridge. Getting children involved in preparing fresh fruits and vegetables is a great idea. You can get them involved in selecting them, washing them, and even putting them onto things like fruit skewers. And some fruits, like bananas, grapes, and berries need no preparation at all, depending on the age of your child.

Carrots, celery, and cucumber sticks make great finger foods. Adding some hummus dip to some vegetable sticks makes a tasty and colorful snack for children. If children are younger, you may need to steam hard vegetables, such as carrots or celery. Or adding peanut butter to celery sticks can be a tasty treat for older children.
