Introduction to Challenges and Strategies in Data Use

In this section, Eme Owoaje outlines key themes to consider in decision making. (Step 3.14)
7.1
EME OWOAJE: In this module, we’ll be looking at the challenges and strategies in data use. Some of the topics we’ll be addressing on the course themes include the importance of incentives, how good is the data, the promise and limitation of technology, how and when can technology improve data. Then we’ll also be looking at the importance of politics– who has power over the data and the decisions that are made regarding the data. So these themes are very important, because they actually have implications on implementation problems. And they’ll be discussed as such as we go through this module. I will be explaining specific implementation strategies that can be used to address the problems in specific contexts.

We can draw from the broad principles on how to tackle similar implementation problems in future programs that you might be involved in.
