Why is research important?

In this video Tarik Sabry and staff from the School of Media and Communication share with us why research is important to them.

Research is important for many reasons. For businesses – such as a cinema – research is important as it can help them make good financial plans. Research is also important in helping us to understand everything from how COVID spreads, climate change, how the media works, the best way to construct building, why books still sell well, or to test new inventions and innovations.

In the video above, researchers from the Communication and Media Research Institute at the University of Westminster talk about why they think research is important, and the impact their research is having on the world.
