Congratulations, you’ve completed Week 1 of English for Academic Study.

So far we’ve looked at some key ideas about how to be a successful student in the UK and noticed how different types of dictionaries can help you expand your vocabulary, use words correctly and improve your pronunciation.

Next week we’ll be discovering some of the most important aspects of university life in the UK by learning about seminars, lectures, tutorials and independent learning, and finding out how lecturers give definitions, how you should record them and how you can write your own definitions.

Later in the week we’ll be bringing everything we’ve learned together by thinking about the differences between studying in the UK and your own experiences by writing a short paragraph.
