Congratulations on finishing Week 2 of English for Academic Study. We hope you have enjoyed the course and found it useful.

Over the last two weeks you have:

  • explored the qualities and skills needed to be a successful university student
  • discussed what to expect by investigating some key terms used at university and the ideas behind them
  • looked at some important skills for learning and using new vocabulary.

If you found anything in this course difficult, or if any of your quiz answers were incorrect, you can review the relevant steps and try again. You can take the quiz as many times as you like.

If you are continuing with the Pre-sessional English Online award, you will have the opportunity to explore in more detail key ideas for academic study, how to produce successful writing at university and ways to communicate effectively. You will also look at using source texts in your academic work and how to develop your critical thinking, reading and writing skills. You will also have the opportunity to develop your presentation skills and look at effective ways to prepare for your university assessment.
