Hello and welcome to the course!

My name is Bas Aarts and I’m Professor of English Linguistics at University College London (UCL) where I teach English grammar to undergraduate and postgraduate students.

As you might expect, I love English grammar, and hope to convey my passion about the subject to you as teachers of English, whatever age group you teach, wherever you are.

As you will see in the next step, there many reasons to enjoy the teaching and study of English grammar, and provided you have the right tools at your disposal, it will be an immensely rewarding experience for you as a teacher and for your students. This course will offer you those tools. I hope you will enjoy it!
