Summary of Week 2 by Claire

It’s been a great couple of weeks so far. Thank you all for your insights, time and comments. There are too many to mention, but here are a few interesting comments and conversations that caught my attention this week. Take a look!

Dima highlights the importance of integrating technology, not just having it as an ‘add on’ for lessons, in this conversation, where we also talk about using tech to teach grammar. If you’ve got other suggestions, please add them!

Thanks to everyone who added their website and app recommendations to the Google form. We’ve collated them here, but you can keep adding more if you like!

I have also posted this elsewhere, but here’s a list of websites/institutions offering free resources for a limited time as a response to the global coronavirus crisis.

Rambahadur posted a useful article about the pros and cons of using mobile phones in class.

Nadia describes how she has used technology to stay in touch with learners during current school closures.

Talking about working within limitations, Laura has some lovely creative ideas about how to replace the technology with her learners. I also liked this adaptation of a tech-based video lesson to make it accessible in a low-tech classroom. Thanks Rachel!

There are some super ideas on the task step where you have adapted some lessons for a low-tech or no-tech environment. Thank you so much! If you’ve not visited this step in a while, take a look.
