Video review of Week 5

An Educator looks back at Week 5

Two of the educators, Tina and Neil, look back over some of their highlights of the week.

In the video, Tina and Neil mentioned several good discussions that have taken place on different steps this week including this one from Patricia Chirlei Santos, this one started by Damla Ceyhan and more. There are lots of great discussions on Step 5.3 so be sure to check them out and join in here.

On the topic of the Eden Project, you can read about Josefin’s visit here, and watch another interesting short video of the project here. You can find the story Neil mentioned about Denmark getting its first wild wolf pack in 200 years here, and the fantastic video Tina mentioned about Yellowstone National Park here.

Tina also mentioned some of the recordings you made, like this one from Thierry on permaculture, and this one from Angélica, a teacher, and this great discussion started by Alexandrina.

On the question of vocabulary, check out this great collection of more than fifty useful expressions for talking about the environment from American English at State. And this comprehensive collection of environment vocabulary, facts and figures is a really useful resource.

Finally, you can find the Footprint calculator that Tina mentioned, here.

Check your progress

Now that you’ve reached the end of Week 5, click the Progress icon at the top of the page to see your progress page. This will show what percentage of the course steps you have marked as complete.

Coming up in Week 6

Next week we’ll be looking at entrepreneurship so if you want to get started right away, go to the To do list for Week 6.

You can always use the To do icon at the top of the page to see what’s coming up or go back to previous weeks and catch up.
If you haven’t completed every step by the end of the final week, don’t worry! The course will remain open to you so that you can carry on at your own speed.

Would you like a certificate?

Once you have completed at least 50% of steps on the course, you will be eligible to purchase a Statement of Participation. This certificate is a great way to show your interest in learning English. It can also be used as evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD), and makes a great souvenir! Find out more
