Photo of Alexandra Velasco Alexandra Velasco: Alexandra Velasco is a doctoral candidate at the Dresden University of Technology in Germany. Her research topics are sustainable public transport and electromobility in Latin American cities. She completed her master’s degree in Infrastructure Planning at the University of Stuttgart. She worked as a sustainable urban mobility advisor at the German International Cooperation GIZ in Ecuador, leading the transition from fossil fuel-powered mobility to cleaner modes of transport in the city of Cuenca. She has more than 7 years of expertise on sustainable mobility policy making, traffic simulation models and travel demand. Her current research interests are the planning of sustainable public transport and infrastructures, feasibility of electric buses in BRT corridors in the Global South, and active mobility.
Photo of Christoph Lienemann Christoph Lienemann: Christoph Lienemann is the Managing Director & Partner for North America at PEM Motion, specializing in E-Mobility, lithium-ion batteries, and circular economy. He holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from RWTH Aachen University and a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Tsinghua University in Beijing. With over a decade of experience, Christoph is a leading researcher in battery production at PEM RWTH Aachen, focusing on recycling and remanufacturing of automotive lithium-ion batteries. He is passionate about driving sustainable innovation and leading international teams for a clean and green future. As a lecturer, Christoph shares his expertise and insights on E-Mobility, exploring the latest trends, breakthroughs, and challenges in the field, with the aim of taking participants on an electrifying journey towards a greener world.
Photo of Marvin Stolz Marvin Stolz: Marvin Stolz is an E-Mobility and sustainable mobility expert who joined the Transformative Urban Mobility Initiative in 2020. He previously worked for KfW Development Bank in the field of renewable energy and urban transport. Marvin holds a degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Risk Assessment and Sustainability Management. His vision is to inspire decision makers worldwide to transform the mobility sector to become carbon neutral before 2050.
Photo of Rohan Shailesh Modi Rohan Shailesh Modi: Rohan Modi is a regulatory expert with a decade of experience in the energy and mobility sectors across Asia and Africa. At TUMI, he is on an ambitious journey to support the procurement of 100,000 E-Buses in partner cities by 2025. Rohan holds a Master’s degree in energy management. He is affiliated with GIZ since 2014 and specializes in cross-sectoral project approaches.
Photo of Bertha Ortega Bertha Ortega: Bertha Ortega is a Senior Consultant and Training Expert at PEM Motion, with a background in Industrial Design and an MSc in Strategic Planning and Innovation. She is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in International Education Management as a DAAD scholarship holder in a joint program between Germany and Egypt. Bertha has successfully led numerous learning projects in areas such as E-Mobility, circular economy, logistics, and soft skills, impacting both private and public sectors, and meeting the diverse needs of target groups ranging from students to professionals. Her true passion lies in project management, innovation, learning, and international cooperation.

She has extensive experience in the automotive industry, having previously worked in the innovation and digitalization area for a German automotive supplier that has made breakthroughs in electric and sustainable mobility. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Systems and Technologies Engineering.
