Precollinar Park – Turin.

The Precollinar Park project had a two-fold aim:

  • ignite a stronger solidarity network within its local community
  • provide an educational example of reusing and recycling materials.

Precollinear Park is a temporary placemaking intervention that has transformed a former tramway track into an urban linear park ー a new community hub as a response to Covid-19.

More than 700 residents from all over Turin participated in the project development process, sharing ideas and comments and raising over 2,500 euros through crowdfunding campaigns.

The project generated a community of over 100 volunteers who develop and upkeep the reconquered public space.

Furnished with reused co-designed materials, it has become a focal point for the local community, hosting gatherings, cultural events and even lessons partnering with nearby schools.
