From Planning to Executing

Professor Grushka-Cockayne summarizes this week's lessons and provides a brief overview of what to expect next week.

Congratulations on completing week 3 of the course! Hopefully, you’ve gained some key insights into thinking about risks. During this week we finished covering the ‘Plan’ stage of the Project Life-Cycle. You learned how to 1. assess the risks associated with a project’s schedule, cost, and scope, and 2. how to plan for ambiguity and uncertainty.

During week 4 of the course you will progress into the Execution stage of the Project Life-Cycle. You will learn about the following topics: from plan to action, those who execute, earned value, and agile approaches. We will conclude week 4 by discussing how these ideas come together in the concepts of our projects, and how they support the priorities and goals we set out to achieve with our project.
