A student perspective

Students from the university of Reading describe their sense of being global citizens and we introduce the course and educators.

We asked a number of students from the University of Reading the same question as we asked you in the last Step: how comfortable are you with describing yourself as a global citizen? Although the students have given themselves different scores, they all identified as a global citizen, drawing on their experiences, knowledge and feelings to justify their score.

Global citizenship is an interdisciplinary topic and we’re grateful for the fabulous contributions from colleagues and students at the University of Reading who have provided their perspectives based on their experiences in the UK, China, South Africa and Malaysia. We’ve included their names in the relevant Steps.

Thank you to our contributors to this video: Ivet Angelova, studying International Relations & Politics, UoR UK, Nevada-Aaliyah Claxton, studying Film & Television Production, UoR UK, Ollie D’Rozario, studying Law, UoR UK and Leah Warby, studying Consumer Behaviour & Marketing, UoR UK.

Now we’d like to hear from you. Please introduce yourself in the discussion area and, if you’re happy to, tell us your own experiences which led to the score you gave in the previous Step.
