What are my rights and responsibilities?

Reflect on your own rights and responsibilities - Nevada considers the human side of migration.

What rights and responsibilities do you feel you have? Does anything prevent you from exercising them?

Watch Nevada-Aaliyah talk about her experiences of migration and how they affect her sense of responsibility.

“Especially when you’re young, you can be kind of wary that if your views don’t align with someone else’s views that you really love or enjoy having around, then that can cause conflict. But you can love a person and still not always 100% agree with everything they say and those two things can coexist at the same time. And at least, if you can’t change anything, always lead with empathy and self-awareness and kindness, because maybe it’ll change a little something.”

Another of our student contributors shared their thoughts:
“Personally, I haven’t felt any restrictions or limits to exercising my rights as a global citizen, I’m very fortunate in this way and therefore it almost creates a greater sense of responsibility for me to speak up for those in need and to advocate for change in the future.”
