  • First of all orient yourself – notice the central belt of the core built up areas in grey. This covers much of the Johannesburg metropolitan area. To the north of that, the second grey area is the area of the Tshwane City Council (Pretoria).
  • Notice where in the city-region she sees processes of “toehold urbanisation” at work? Are these in the core built up (grey) areas, or more remotely located?
