Congratulations, you’ve completed the second week of Innovation in Arable Farming: Technologies for Sustainable Farming Systems.

There was a lot of information to take in this week and you’ll now have a better understanding of techniques such as yield mapping, prescription mapping and sensor-based technologies. We hope you’re starting to see that there might be potential for improved efficiencies to be made using these technologies and that you might be able to apply them to your own situation.

You also heard from our farmers on the financial costs and risks involved in the adoption of precision farming and that whilst some techniques are expensive, there are also lower cost alternatives.

Next Week

In Week 3 we’ll be addressing some of the other key considerations of precision farming. We’ll hear more from our farmers as we consider what the social and environmental considerations of precision farming might be, including how they’re measured.
