The second expression we’ll be learning today is “정말 좋아 보여요.(“Oh, those look cool.”)”

When you look at something, you can tell your impression of something. In Korean, you can use the expressions like “-아/어/해 보여요” to talk about your impression on something.

‘-아(-어) 보여요

This expression is used with an adjective, and if the adjective contains “ㅏ or ㅗ” vowel, such as “좋다 (= good)” or “비싸다 (= expensive),” you use “-아 보여요” (= seems). For the adjectives that does not contain “ㅏ or ㅗ” vowel, you should use the expression “-어 보여요 (= seems)”

‘-해 보여요

for the adjectives that ends in “-하다,” such as “편하다 (= comfortable),” you need to use the expression “-해 보여요 (= seems).”

  • 정말 비싸 보여요.
  • 정말 편해 보여요.
