The expression ‘-(으)려고’ is used with verbs to describe the purpose of an action. If the verb contains a bottom consonant, such as ‘읽으려고, you use the expression ‘-으려고,’ and if the verb does not contain a bottom consonant, you can simply use ‘-려고,’ such as ‘주려고’.
