What kind of world do humanists want?

What kind of world do humanists want? Watch a collection of humanists answer the question.

I believe the world that humanists would want is a world where everybody is treated equally and with fairness and with respect. Humanists would want a world in which, principally, human rights were respected, human rights, freedom, freedom of expression, freedom of belief. The right to practice your religion or to practice no religion, the right to be able to talk about these things, and the right to be able to, you know, as long as you’re not harming your people and the planet, you know, to be who you want to be. One where people are free and people live good, happy and fulfilling lives as far as possible.

I think humanists want a world where there’s equality, where everyone is able to self-actualise, where everyone is able to contribute to society what they want and everyone gets from society what they need. A humanist’s ideal world would be one in which everybody feels that they can be their genuine selves without fear or dread. We don’t care if other people believe different things, we actually really aren’t looking to convert or change anyone, it’s more about a world in which all those people can live productively together.

We live in a world now that people are exposed to so many other cultures, so many other races, so many other, you know, ideas, a humanist kind of framework for that allows people to accept these different ideas and these different people in a much more cohesive way.
