Image inversion

Dynamic range compression

Sometimes the dynamic range of a processed image far exceeds the display capability of the display device, in which case only the brightest part of the image is visible on the display and dynamic range compression of the image is required.

Contrast stretching

Low contrast images may be due to insufficient light, lack of dynamic range in the image sensor, or even incorrectly set lens aperture during image acquisition. The idea behind contrast stretching is to increase the dynamic range of the gray scale in image processing.
