Prof.Lee: Did you enjoy the video? In the previous steps, we studied “do well” and “not do well”. In this case too, the form can change depending on the verb. How do we say “(drawing a)picture” in Korean? Since the verb used with “picture” is “to draw” the correct sentence is “to draw well/ to not draw well”. when conjugating the verb “dance[ch´uda]”, you have to add the ending ´eoyo´. Therefore it becomes “ch´u-eo-yo”, when speaking fast it will sound as “ch´ueo-yo”. So you should say “I am good at dancing. [Ch´umeul jal ch´ueo-yo.]”/ “I am not good at dancing. [Ch´umeul jal mot ch´ueo-yo.]” Let’s practice this once.

Male student: Seyeon, can you draw?
117.6
Female student: Yes I can draw.
120.6
Male student: Are you good at drawing?
122.9
Female student: No, I’m not good at drawing.

In the previous steps, we studied ‘잘해요(잘하다) and ‘잘 못 해요(잘 못 하다)’. Since the verb used with ‘그림(picture)’ is ‘그리다(to draw)’ the correct sentence is ‘그림을 잘 그리다/잘 못 그리다(to draw well/ to not draw well)’.

In this case too, the form can change depending on the verb. When conjugating the verb ‘추다’ you have to add the ending ´어요´ . Therefore it becomes ‘추어요’, when speaking fast it will sound as ‘춰요’. So you should say ‘춤을 추어요/춤을 춰요’.

Now try to ask what someone can or cannot do and things that they are good or not good at. you can choose a character (Michael or Jenny) try to practice one more time.

1) Michael’s part of the dialogue

남학생 : 제니 씨는 그림을 __?

여학생 : 네, 그림을 그릴 수 있어요.

남학생 : 그림을 __?

여학생 : 아니요, 저는 그림을 잘 못 그려요.

2) Jenny’s part of the dialogue

남학생 : 제니 씨는 그림을 그릴 수 있어요?

여학생 : 네, 그림을 __.

남학생 : 그림을 잘 그려요?

여학생 : 아니요, 저는 그림을 __.
