What do foreigners buy when they come to Korea?

The first is ‘김(Gim, Dried seaweed)’. In the past, only tourists from Asian countries such as Japan or China would buy it. However recently, tourists from the USA or Europe also buy a lot of it. In Korea, ‘김(Gim)’ is a typical side dish, but foreigners sometimes eat ‘김(Gim)’ also as a snack. That’s why recently, there is ‘김(Gim)’ that is packaged to be eaten quickly and conveniently.

The second commonly bought item is socks. Korea has a wide variety of socks, with a lot of different designs. Also, the price is not very high, so foreigners buy Korean socks even as a gift. Socks with famous characters or Korean-Wave celebrities are quite popular.

There are also many tourists who buy Instant coffee, ‘라면(Ramyeon)’, and ‘소주(Soju)’, which have all become famous through Korean dramas.
