Welcome to Week 6

This we discuss the management of different patient cohorts undergoing a TIVA anaesthetic

Week 6

Special Patient Cohorts

TIVA is a technique that can be used for all types of patients. Before we use TIVA for any patient we need to question whether they have any special characteristics that will alter the expected pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of the drugs we intend to use.

This week we look at some of the most common conditions that alter pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics. TIVA is safe to use in all patient cohorts as long as we personalise our approach. Join us to find out more about delivering TIVA to obstetric, elderly, emergency and obese patients.
