Storing Files with Azure

In this step, you’ll be introduced to a basic file storage option called Azure Storage.

Azure provides a cloud-based, scalable solution for online services. The two simplest options for storing files are Azure Storage and Azure Data Lake Store.

Azure Storage

This is a simple file storage system based on blobs (Binary Large OBject) of data.

Azure Data Lake Store

The main difference between Data Lake Store and Azure Storage is that you can have larger files and many more of them in Data Lake Store. It also has security & encryption options available above-and-beyond that of Azure Storage, including hierarchical or folder-specific access control.
