Right, what I want to do now is to play the tune and to improvise like we did before, but with the voicings in the lower position, and this time stabbed. Now when we get to the middle, there’s going to be a little bit of a clash because we’re using the upper voicings, but in a sense, the tune must win.

That’s the only bit where there’s a clash. OK. Anything else I want to say? Yeah, I think I’ll see if I can try and make the improvising a little bit more interesting, other than just going up and down the scale. I’ll try my hardest to only use notes that belong to the appropriate scales.

Let’s see how I get on. The idea is not to daunt you with lots of notes, but just to kind of persuade you that even though I have this constraint of staying on the scale, I can still make it a little bit more interesting. 1,2,1,2,3,4.
