For both clients and cloud providers, there are many best practices to consider.

If you want to use any cloud services or work in cloud computing companies, the following best practices will ensure safe and reliable services.

Tools icon Securing different components of the system either in-house or in the cloud, using state-of-the-art tools to detect attacks, intrusion, and unauthorised access.
Audits icon Regular audits and tests allow constant checking of the security methods and policies used in the company to find issues and pitfalls before hackers find them.
Policies icon Regardless of the high level of security enforced by the cloud provider, clients need to enforce their own high level end-point security policies.
Enforcement icon Clients should regularly update and enforce their cloud security policies based on the best security policies in the world.
Training icon Companies should apply systematic staff training to recognise attacks, especially phishing emails and messages.
Responsibility icon Clients need to understand the shared responsibility model in cloud security.

The last best practice, shared responsibility model in cloud security, is one of the most important, which differs greatly from traditional security practices in the IT industry. Therefore, the next section covers the details of this model.
