The Innovation Myth

Once you’ve understood your user and defined the problem you’re solving, it’s time to define the solution. It’s time to ideate.

You may think of yourself as a creative person. Or perhaps not. Innovation doesn’t always come from creative or naturally gifted individuals that had a moment of genius. Innovative ideas mostly come from people making new associations. Combining something from one field into a different field;

• Apple designs were heavily inspired by Old Braun products
• Movies borrow ideas from comic books
• Video games borrow from movies
• Apps borrow ideas from game design

In fact, if you follow very specific techniques, you’ll no doubt come up with great ideas.
