Youth Demands for Climate Crisis

Communities, schools, colleges and universities are gathering at side events across Glasgow in parallel with COP26. They are demanding that world leaders take action on the climate crisis.

Communities, schools, colleges and universities are gathering at side events across Glasgow in parallel with COP26. They are demanding that world leaders take action on the climate crisis.

Students from St Andrew’s RC Secondary School, Glasgow spent a day at the After the Pandemic venue at the University of Strathclyde. Working with activities provided by Daydream Believers they unleashed their creativity, critical thinking and problem solving skills to present ideas for products that would promote a more circular economy.

Speaking after their presentations, Tyron Eckhorse, Brenna Gallacher, Ethan Culbert and Abbie Henderson shared their hopes for COP26. Alongside these individual hopes for COP26, a collective Scottish Youth Climate Declaration was presented to Scotland’s leaders. The Declaration formalises 40 asks of the Scottish government and international decision makers. This was created by 70 young people as the culmination of Scotland’s first ever Youth Climate Summit:
