It’s the end of our course and week three has been a lot of fun. We got our crystal ball and thought hard about what film games and tv might look like in the future.

On the way we saw how Extended Reality technologies (XR) are already transforming audience experiences, and helping people to engage with history, art and culture in many varied and exciting new ways.

We learnt a little more about the differences between Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality and the advantages and drawbacks of both of these technologies. We also saw how these technologies fundamentally help us to tell stories, which is the beating heart of what the screen industry is about.

And we added the final part of our career toolkit work, thinking about networking, work experience and looking for work in the industry.

We hope you’ve enjoyed learning with us on this course – we’ve really enjoyed putting it all together – and we hope that it’s inspired you to work in film, TV or games in the future.

You can also find more information on the webpages of Screen Industries Growth Network and Creative Train. The University of York’s Department of Theatre, Film, Television and Interactive Media would also be interested to hear from anyone interested in further study within the creative industries.

Thanks again for joining us!
