Introduction to image data and features

An introduction to the types of data and features we might extract from images and use for machine learning. Presented by Andy French.

Image data can be the pixels themselves, but more commonly we use specific measurements or features directly extracted from the image. Machine learning can also operate on higher level measurements known as traits.

For more on extracting measurements from images, see the earlier course in this series, Introduction to Image Analysis for Plant Phenotyping.
