Class imbalance

A video describing what class imbalance is and why it is important.

What do we mean by class imbalance?

If your dataset has lots of examples of one class, but very few of another, then there is said to be class imbalance. For example, you may have lots of examples of healthy plants in your dataset, but very few with a particular disease you are trying to detect.

This video looks at the implications for class imbalance on machine learning, and possible ways to counteract it.
