Watch short film The Fort by Tom Barrance.

Paying close attention to what you’re seeing when you watch films can help teach you a lot about filmmaking. Short films are a good place to start, because they tell a complete story in a few minutes.

I made this film At the Fort in 2014. The film location is an old World War II fort that I found when I was out running. It seemed like the ideal setting for a short film! I worked out a storyboard for it then recruited a friend to act in it. It was all filmed with a DSLR camera using natural light.
