Week 2 Summary

Week 2 Summary
4.1
Well done on reaching the end of Week 2. We hope that you’ve enjoyed becoming familiar with makerspaces in schools, libraries, museums, and community settings. We hope that you were as impressed as we are by the Bay Area Discovery Museum’s Try It Truck. We certainly were here at the University of Sheffield and we have recently introduced our very own MakerMove van, developed in collaboration with the Site Gallery to tour the Sheffield city region, visiting local schools and museums. In the comment section, we’d like you to discuss what has inspired you this week, and what maker activities would you like to try? Next week, we’ll move on to think about the practicalities of setting up makerspaces. See you then.

In this video, Alison summarises the weeks learning and looks forward to the final week of Makerspaces for Creative Learning.

As Alison notes, she was so impressed by the Bay Area Discovery Museum’s Try It Truck that it inspired Makerfutures to create their own MakerMove van. You can see more of the MakerMove van at the MakerFutures website.
