Here we have the chance to interview another young and very talented scientist that works at the Brain and Mind Institute, University of Western Ontario in London, Canada: Swathi Swaminathan.

Together with Swathi, we will discuss the relationship between music and intelligence and as well as the possible reasons and explanations of this relationship.

Q1: Is the relationship between intelligence and music training a strong one? Would you expect to observe this relationship if you were looking for it in primary school? In high school? Among the master students of a university?

Q2: Is there anything else that is also connected with intelligence? Is the relationship really only between music training and intelligence or are there other possible factors?

Q3: Is there a cause/effect relationship between music lessons and intelligence?

Q4: So, if you had young kids now, would you try to push them and play some music?
