That’s a wrap!

Watch Dr Victoria Kain and Dr Elizabeth Forster as they conclude Week 1 of the 'Assessment of the Newborn' course in FutureLearn.
Thanks for a great first week, everyone. It’s been terrific seeing so many of you posting in the comments section and discussions. We encourage you to continue to interact with one another. For those of you who haven’t posted yet, there are many more opportunities ahead to share your thoughts and insights. We look forward to hearing from you. Looking back over the week, we’ve covered a lot. By now, you’ll be feeling more confident about preparing for and conducting a head to toe assessment of the newborn. If you’re a nurse or midwife, remember to take advantage of teachable moments with parents in your clinical practise. And if you’re a parent, we encourage you to ask questions when your baby is being assessed.
Thanks for your involvement in the course so far. We look forward to continuing our journey next week as we move on to newborn skincare, common abnormal findings, and assessing early signs of newborn milestone development. See you then.

Thanks for joining us this week.

We trust you’ve enjoyed learning about newborn assessment and are feeling more confident about approaching the baby’s first physical examination.

If you are a parent or parent-to-be, we hope you are feeling more comfortable about the examination process your baby has gone through or will go through in the future. We also trust we have demystified some of the terminology along the way.

Thanks for your questions and contributions this week. We look forward to seeing you again in Week 2.
