Typing Norwegian Letters On Your Computer

How do you type Norwegian letters if you don’t have a Norwegian computer keyboard?

Many of you may be using a computer with a keyboard in either your mother tongue or English and you may be wondering how to type all those new and strange looking letters of the Norwegian alphabet.

Unfortunately there is no one solution that covers the many different types and versions of operating systems (OS) that exist today. However, we have collated a number of online guides below that may help you understand how to type these different characters.

You can also go straight to your computer instruction manual online if you prefer.

Often you can find help and answers to your questions if you look in the support page of your Operating System’s website or online manual.

Here, we have examples from the support pages for Mac Sierra and Windows 10 :

You may have noticed that there are no significant differences between the different versions on a Mac . Try to find your way around on your own machine starting with “settings”.

Unfortunately the difference between the older version of the Windows OS and the modern version is substantially different, however, everything starts with “settings”.

All in all, sometimes it’s just enough to google your question to find very specific answers, like this one we found on typing shortcuts for Mac:

If you prefer working on Tablets or Smart Phones, you would also have to change the language or add an additional keyboard for your device.
